These days almost everyone has a mobile phone: they are essential for everyday life. People also want to save money. If you love your current phone but believe you could be spending less on your phone bill, it might be time to look into Amaysim.

Most Australians buy their phone plans from one of the “big four” phone companies. Sure, it might be easier to go with well-known brands that have a store at every other street corner. But if you don’t shop around and consider lesser known brands like Amaysim, you might be paying way more than you need to.

So what does Amaysim offer? A $39.90 unlimited plan with 4GB of data. Now, let’s peel that apart and see what a great deal it really is.

Unlimited means unlimited. The plan is limited to fair use, but no one talks on their phone 24/7: if your needs match those of the legitimate Australian consumer you will be fully covered. No more mysterious $100-plus phone bills. Amaysim allows you to stop worrying about hitting your cap and getting an outrageous charge. You will be charged extra for international calls, but only 6 cents per minutes, while most companies charge between 29 and 49 cents per minute!

To put 4GB of data in perspective, only the top 20% of smartphone users in the country go over 2GB of data in the month. 4GB is a LOT of data. Unless you’re in the top 1% of data consumers, Amaysim will have you covered.

No need to worry about dropped calls or dead zones: Amaysim uses the Optus 3G network, which covers 97% of the Australian population, so coverage is great.

Customer service is great too. The call centre is based here in Australia, not halfway across the world, and operators are standing by to answer questions in a friendly, helpful manner

Plus, Amaysim doesn’t trap you in a binding commitment. There’s no contract: this type of plan is called On Account. All you have to do is sign up and activate online by giving them your credit card or bank account details, and they charge you a flat rate every month. It’s better than a prepaid SIM card because usage is unlimited, and you can cancel any time without argument or termination fees.

You won’t be able to get a new phone or upgrade your current phone, but you WILL get a great deal with your current phone.

Amaysim has only been around since the end of 2010, but Money Magazine has awarded them twice for having the best unlimited and as you go plans!
