The Sony Xperia T otherwise known as the Sony LT30p is a new class of Smartphone. The device was introduced to the media last August 29, 2012 and is said to be available in the market within September of this year.
Sony has equipped the Xperia T with a Qualcomm processor (MSM8260A) Snapdragon S4 with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait along with the Adreno 225 GPU plus a whopping 1 GB of RAM. Though the phone only comes with a dual-core processor working on an Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system, the phone remarkably runs competently. There were no signs of lag when switching or browsing from one home screen to another.
With a Smartphone having a bigger display such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Sony Xperia T is not actually far behind. The handset is packed with a display screen of 4.55 inches with 1280 x 720 PX at 323 Pixels Per Inch and 16M colors. Video playback and capability of this unit is also one of a kind, due to the fact that it is loaded with the Sony Mobile Bravia Engine which was also found on Sony’s television sets providing a one of a kind visual experience.
There are two snappers on the said phone. The rear and the front camera which is expected to be found on a top notch Smartphone. The back camera features a 13-Megapixel resolution with an aperture of f/2.4, 16 times digital zoom, an illuminated sensor, Autofocus, Geo-tagging, face detection, video and image stabilization, touch focus and more importantly it captures video in full HD of 1080p at a rate of 30 frames per second. The front camera comes with a 1.3-Megapixel and is astonishingly capable of video recording of 720p at 30 frames per second which is quite striking for a front camera on Smartphones nowadays.
The Sony Xperia T’s connectivity is also one of a kind. Since it is dual-band, it guarantees a more stable and faster Wi-Fi connection. The handset is also backward compatible with a 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi networks. It can also function as a wireless hotspot which allows a number of wireless devices to be connected to it all at the same time. The Xperia T is both 2G and 3G capable with Bluetooth connectivity.
The main attention of the Sony Xperia is entertainment. The handset is loaded with a handful of applications that would enhance the user media experience. More and more consumers would prefer to acquire handsets that are Android powered because most of the apps found on the Android store are free and upgradeable.
Apart from the great full HD video experience delivered by the Mobile Bravia Engine, the handset’s audio experience is also enhanced when it is played through the phone’s built-in speaker without distorting the quality of the sound. Thanks to Sony’s xLoud.
The battery is said to be a phones most important element. What can a powerful phone do if the battery can only last a few hours? Well, Sony made sure that this latest device is stuffed with an 1850mAh Lithuim Ion battery. The handset claims to guarantee a standby time of 450 hours on 2G and almost up to 410 hours on 4G. The Xperia T also lasts 7 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 7 hours of 3G network. It can also last 16 hours of music playback.
With the Xperia T’s combination of the Smartphone and entertainment phone in one, it does make Sony on top of the competition. With its large display, enhanced audio system, full HD playback and video recording along with its stylish and elegant design, it sure does make the Sony Xperia T a winner.
