Less Is More With HTC’s One S

HTC One S is just one of the premium smart phones that HTC released this year together with its big brother the HTC One X. This Smartphone really is a head turner due to its curve and slim design. However, this model is often dominated by the powerful One X. The HTC One S sports a much smaller display, lower resolution, and a slow dual core processor. Nonetheless, it comes in a very elegant metal covering and currently one of the thinnest Smartphone to date.

The phone runs on Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 which can be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 with 1.5GHz dual-core CPU with the Adreno 225 as its graphics processing unit. It is also built with 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The phone also lacks a MicroSD slot which means that it doesn’t have any space for memory expansion.

The One S is presented with an integrated user interface which is the HTC Sense 4. It still comes with features to match weather animations with weather conditions where ever you are located which is also integrated with social media applications such as Facebook and Twitter.

It has an 8-megapixel back camera which is capable of a full 1080p HD video recording. Along with a dedicated Image Chip, it can take pictures and videos rapidly with the addition of Autofocus. It also has a BSI Sensor and Smart Flash that improve picture quality even in low light by automatically increasing the amount of light needed to produce the best images.

The snapper works with the basic modes like, panorama, macro and face detection and together with the impressive continuous capture mode that allows you to take up to 99 shots rapidly.

Like its big brother the HTC One X, the One S is also integrated with the Beats Audio technology which improves or increase bass that compliments with low music styles like dance, techno and rap. Plus it has a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones and auxiliary speakers.

In terms of connectivity the One S has it all. It includes HSDPA and GPS, WI-FI IEEE 802 11 b/g/n connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0. Same as the other HTC One series, the One S also has the WI-Fi hotspot feature that allows it to function as an access point.

A DLNA micro USB 2.0 port with MHL Link is also installed if you wish to sync your phone to your computer or any console. Through the Micro USB port, you can also plug your phone into to your HD TV for a much better video and audio experience while it is charging.

The battery is integrated and the back panel won’t come off so there is no way to replace it. There is no specific information as to how long the battery life works on the One S but it is said to be impressively much better the One X.

The HTC One S is a remarkable Smartphone with amazing capabilities and is readily accessible at very affordable price range.
