Xperia J – Sony’s Budget Smartphone

Majority of the smartphone manufacturers are laying too much attention toward the budgets smartphones as they are turning out to be a huge hit in the market. Sony Xperia J is one such phone which offers true value for money. The box contains the device, A/C adapter, headset as well as data cable.

Sony Xperia J has got an inward curve, which to a great extent resembles Xperia T but is not as slim as Xperia Arc. The simple look, angular front is in sync with the current design language of Sony. It has got capacitive touch buttons that are placed on the bottom of the screen. These keys produce sharp vibration when you tap them. You will be impressed with the neat and all-plastic look of the phone. The Power/Lock key is situated on the right side of the device along with a thin volume rocker, whereas on the left had side there is a microUSB slot.

The rear of the device has got a rubbery finish which may be considered as among the best of all the Xperia devices. There is a 5 MP camera on the rear along with a LED flash that is situated on the top left corner. Sony Xperia J has got a powerful 1750 mAh battery that provides plenty of talk time. Underneath the battery cover there is SIM compartment and microSD slot.

Sony Xperia J features a brilliant 4 inch LCD having a pixel resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. However, this device lacks BRAVIA technology. Also, the auto brightness feature is missing in the device and you have to adjust it manually. The on-screen images are highly crisp with vivid colours and impressive contrast. This device uses Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and is likely to get a Jelly Bean update sometime soon. You will see the usual five pane home screen configuration but you cannot add or remove the panes. There are some custom-made widgets including Mediascape, Timescape etc. that you can customize. Also, Xperia J has got a customized phonebook that can be used to store unlimited contacts. Using a tabbed interface you can access recent calls, caller information as well as contact details. You can also sync the contact details with the social networking websites. To further enhance the utility of this phone you can add various kinds of apps of various categories from Google Play Store.
